VYF Registered As Charitable Trust On 15th August 1987
1990-1994
Project Disha kicks off at Mankhurd as practical full day workshop programmes becomes increasingly popular with children.
Conducted Mini Parliament of Religions in September 1992 with representatives from Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrian.
Extensive riot relief in Mumbai in December 1992 and January 1993 along with Blood Donation drive for hospitalized victims.
2001-2002
Soup Kitchen, a project for street children of Andheri commences in 2001
Relief supplies and fund collection drive for Latur Earthquake, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh cyclone in 2002

Participated In Mumbai Marathon To Raise Funds
2011-12
VYF celebrates 25 years at Ramakrishna Mission, Khar, Mumbai in August 2011 by singing songs and enacting three plays based on Swami Vivekananda's life.
RKM, Mumbai, granted funds to VYF under the Gadadhar Abhyndaya Prakalpa (GAP) for the welfare of 100 children aged below 12 years.
Soup Kitchen moved to new premises at ESIC Nagar, Vinayak Tower, Behind YMCA, Andheri (W).
"Journey to Divinity" on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda VYF in collaboration with RKM organised a classical dance recital based on the message and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.
2013-14
To commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary on 12th January, All India Radio invited Purnima Contractor, Preeti Verma and Vidyasagar Ayyappan to share the inspiration they got from Swamiji’s message and how His message is still relevant today in our lives.
Raised funds for rehabilitation of people affected by floods of Uttarakhand in June 2013
VYF receives FCRA certification from the GoI.
2014-15
Participated in the Annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival from 6th to 9th February, 2014.
Sandhyalaya moves to Jamnabai Narsee School on 24th July, 2014.
Supported Aadhar Foundation, Byculla, a residential home for orphan boys above 18 yrs. VYF supplied groceries (Dal, Rice, Oil) to the organization.
2016-17
Participated in the Annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in February, 2017.
2017-18
FCRA renewed for 5 years; valid till 2023.
Launched Disha - YUVAK, program for mentoring, counselling youth aged 18 - 24 years.
2020
Provided COVID-19 relief to 573 families ( 2475 people)
2022
Launched Project Sparsh at Vile Parle (W).
A balwadi and mentoring center for children and youth living along the railway tracks, slums, and streets.
